About Jamlex

The Jamaican Lexicography Project (Jamlex) is the first project aimed at undertaking long-term lexicographic work on the lexicon of Jamaicans [Jamaican (Creole) and Jamaican English]. The project researches and documents the vocabulary of Jamaican Creole, which is popularly referred to as (Jamaican) Patois, and lexical innovations in Jamaican English, which set it apart from the other varieties of English.
